Alright ladies and gentlemen, we're doing it again this year. My birthday is coming up on Monday September 13th. Since I am turning 23, I'm asking people to skip giving me a gift and to donate $23 to a good cause. Charity: water is a nonprofit organization that build wells around the world so people can have access to clean drinking water.
As of right now, about 1 billion people do not have access to clean drinking water. That means 1 out of every 8 of us drinks dirty contaminated water. In turn, this lack of sanitation causes 80% of the world's disease and kills more people every year than wars do.
If you donate just $23, you will not only be helping me celebrate my birthday, but your individual gift will be enough to provide another individual with clean drinking water for 20 years. That is from now unitl 2030. This year proceeds will be going to help give clean drinking water to the Bayaka people in the Central African Republic - check out the video to the right to learn more. Health is a gift that everyone deserves - lets make a difference by giving clean drinking water to others. Thank you everyone. Take care and God bless.
