Every day, 5,000 kids under the age of 5 die from water-related illnesses. I want to help change that!

My fifth birthday is almost here. I'm usually excited about getting older and receiving gifts, but this year I want to focus on helping others. I recently learned that millions of kids around the world don't live to see their fifth birthday because they don't have access to clean, safe drinking water. That means that if I lived in another country without clean drinking water, I may not make it to my next birthday. We can help change that. We need to help change that!

I'm asking that people donate to charity: water in place of giving me a birthday gift this year. Please donate whatever you would usually spend on a birthday gift for me. Even if you don't usually give me a gift for my birthday, I'm asking you to consider donating my age in dollars. Every penny of the money raised will directly fund clean water projects in developing countries. Even better, charity: water will show us exactly which projects we funded once they've been fully completed (which takes about 18 months). That means we'll know the locations and names of the communities we helped.
