Every day, 1,400 kids under the age of 5 die from water-related illnesses. Let's use my b-day to help change that!
My birthday is around the corner. I don't usually ask for presents, but this year I've decided to make an exception. I'm asking all my friends and family to donate to charity: water and give clean water to people who need it, instead of giving me gifts. I've learned that EVERY DAY 1,400 kids around the world don't live to see their fifth birthday because they don't have access to clean, safe drinking water. We can help change that. So I started the Samrawit project. Samrawit, Amharic meaning She Who Unifies. So with this project lets all unite and raise money for something meaningful.
I'm asking for my age in dollars from everyone I know. 100% of the money raised will directly fund clean water projects in developing countries. Even better, charity: water will show us exactly which projects we funded once they've been fully completed (which takes about 21 months). That means we'll know the locations and names of the communities we helped.
Help me reach my goal. Please donate to my birthday campaign!
