Go and do Likewise . . .
In the parable of the Good Samaritin (Luke 10:25-37), Jesus tells a story that helps define who our neighbor is and how we should love our neighbor. Samaritans were looked down upon by the "religious" leaders of the time. Yet, when the "religious" leaders of the time passed a fellow man in need, they walked by and did nothing, while the "lowly" Samaritan took his time and money to ensure his brother was cared for. He showed love and compassion to his neighbor.
Then in verse 37, Jesus tells us what we should do for our neighbor in need - "Go and do likewise," he said, referring to the actions of the Good Samaritan.
So, during the holidays of Thanksgiving and Christmas, we're asking you to be a Good Samaritan and help to bring clean water to a village in Africa. Please donate whatever you can - $1, $5, $10, $20, or more. Help us to show love and compassion to our neighbors who are desperately in need.
