Mission Statement

Many of us have no idea what it's like to be thirsty. We have plenty of water to drink -- even the water in our toilets is clean!

But many people around the world don’t have that luxury. Every day, 5,000 kids die from water-related illnesses before they reach their fifth birthday. But it doesn’t have to be that way. There are simple solutions like drilled wells, spring protections and BioSand filters that help provide clean water to communities around the world.

I started this fundraising campaign to help charity: water build these types of projects around the world. By participating in the Alaska Travelgram Field Trip--you're supporting this project.

To qualify for the Field Trip on Sat., Sept. 7, 2013, we ask that you make a donation of at least $50 per person. So if two of you are going--that's $100. Of course, you're welcome to donate any amount--even if you're not able to join us on Sept. 7!

100% of the money will be used to build clean water projects, and when they’re complete, charity: water will send us photos and GPS coordinates so we can see the exact community we helped.

I am glad I can help get people clean water. My school only has 350 students, it is sad to know that 10 times that many die each week because they do not have clean water. I am donating all the money I have right now and I will ask others to help too.

It is a privilege to help in this small way. Clean water is such a basic need and to know that children are dying from a lack of it is heartbreaking. To think, just a few dollars can help save lives, how can we not afford to help?

Millions of children and women walk miles to access water that is full of water-bourne bacteria and disease. Water that makes children and families sick and even death. You can make a difference by donating to nonprofits like charity: water. Remember to use your company match if available.

Clean water would wipe out so many diseases and free up so much time for so many people.

I spent many years growing up in communities with questionable water at best. It is a necessity and this a great cause.

Diseases from unsafe water and lack of basic sanitation kill more people every year than all forms of violence, including war. Your donation will help change that.
