This campaign closed on Nov 20, 2013 Scott McMurren brought clean water to Adigidey Maimeret.
Many of us have no idea what it's like to be thirsty. We have plenty of water to drink -- even the water in our toilets is clean!
But many people around the world don’t have that luxury. Every day, 5,000 kids die from water-related illnesses before they reach their fifth birthday. But it doesn’t have to be that way. There are simple solutions like drilled wells, spring protections and BioSand filters that help provide clean water to communities around the world.
I started this fundraising campaign to help charity: water build these types of projects around the world. By participating in the Alaska Travelgram Field Trip--you're supporting this project.
To qualify for the Field Trip on Sat., Sept. 7, 2013, we ask that you make a donation of at least $50 per person. So if two of you are going--that's $100. Of course, you're welcome to donate any amount--even if you're not able to join us on Sept. 7!
100% of the money will be used to build clean water projects, and when they’re complete, charity: water will send us photos and GPS coordinates so we can see the exact community we helped.

Diseases from unsafe water and lack of basic sanitation kill more people every year than all forms of violence, including war. Your donation will help change that.
100% of the money raised by this campaign is being used to bring clean water to help those in need. In 21 months we’ll be able to show you exactly where the money went and who it helped.
