Thanksgiving isn’t just about eating turkey until you’re in a couch coma, watching leaves change into their fall colours or Swiss Chalet pumpkin pie. It’s also about my birthday. That’s right, this year the big day lands smack dab on thanksgiving. Monday October 14th. A few months ago I pledged to give up my birthday for Charity Water. Being a man of my word, here we are today! So I’m asking all of you to kick in a couple bucks towards an amazing cause. There’s no better way to celebrate thanksgiving than to give to others who might not have much to be thankful for.

I'm asking for my age in dollars from everyone I know. Every penny of the money raised will directly fund clean water projects in developing countries. Even better, charity: water will show us exactly which projects we funded once they've been fully completed (which takes about 18 months). That means we'll know the locations and names of the communities we helped.
