Hello my sweet dudes so this year i wanted to do another charity fundraiser for my bday! Please consider if you're in a good position to donate bc i know we all got hit in diff ways with reduced hours etc etc <3

Here are some good thoughts from the charity themselves (long read ahead but i'm sure u all know that water is important):

Every day, about 1,400 children die from diseases caused by unsafe water and poor sanitation. But it doesn’t have to be that way. There are simple solutions like drilled wells, spring protections and BioSand filters that help provide clean water to communities around the world.

Private donors cover their operating cost so that 100% of all public donations can go directly to water project costs! When they’re complete, charity: water will send us photos and GPS coordinates so we can see the exact community we helped!

In terms of pandemic / disease related thoughts:

Globally, 40% of people lack access to a handwashing facility. It’s worse in Sub-Saharan Africa, where 75% of people lack access.

Good hygiene practices, especially effective handwashing, are key to preventing the spread of the coronavirus.

Our local partners are experts in disease prevention. As WASH (Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene) providers, their work is always focused on preventing waterborne diseases, like diarrhea and typhoid fever, not only with access to clean water but also with training on healthy sanitation and hygiene practices. Now, their expertise is exactly what’s needed to prevent the spread of COVID-19.

This essential work is keeping families safe from COVID-19 in places where healthcare systems are not equipped to support those who fall ill.
