This year, on November 11, I will turn six years old. I also moved to a new country this year, South Africa. Living in South Africa, I have learned that water is very precious. Lots of children living close to me in Cape Town don't have clean water to drink or take baths. Lots don't even have bathrooms or sinks in their homes. And lots more all over Africa don't have clean water or they have to walk really far to get it. Often it is girls who have to go fetch water, even girls who are only six years old like me.

I am very lucky. I have fresh water to drink, bathe, and even swim in. And I have lots of toys and books to read. So this year for my birthday I don't want lots of presents. Instead, I would like for my friends and family to donate $20 to help other children get fresh water. I hope you can help.
