Hi friends! My 24th birthday is coming up soon, and this year I've been inspired to start a fundraising campaign to help support charity: water.

The idea is this, instead of birthday cards or gifts this year I want to see if I can convince friends and family to donate a dollar for every birthday I've celebrated. I've set a lofty goal of $1200. So If I can convince just 50 friends to donate $24 each we'll have given 40 people access to one of the most basic human necessities!

I trust Charity: Water as a good source to host this campaign through because of the way they choose to handle donations.
All back-end expenses are paid for out-of-pocket by the people that run Charity: Water. Even the credit card fees are covered. That means that every penny that we raise through this campaign goes into the clean water effort.

Many of us have no idea what it's like to be thirsty. We have plenty of water to drink -- even the water in our toilets is clean!

But many people around the world don’t have that luxury. Every day, about 1,400 children die from diseases caused by unsafe water and poor sanitation. But it doesn’t have to be that way. There are simple solutions like drilled wells, spring protections and BioSand filters that help provide clean water to communities around the world.

Charity: Water builds these types of projects around the world, and I'm looking for anyone who can help out. Anything donated is a huge help.

100% of the money will be used to build clean water projects, and when they’re complete, charity: water will send us photos and GPS coordinates so we can see the exact community we helped.
