We're spending 8 days climbing Mt. Kilimanjaro but imagine doing it without clean water, everyday.

UPDATE: You guys have knocked our (hiking) socks off with your generous donations to charity:water, so we're going to set some new goals and do something for you: embarrass ourselves a little bit.
$3,000: We will sing and film a rendition of either Toto’s "Africa" or Enrique Iglesias' "Hero" while in Tanzania.
$4,000: We will re-enact and film the opening scene of Lion King while in Tanzania.
$6,000: We will dress up in cat costumes and spend a night of revelry out and about in NYC (not within 3 weeks of Halloween).

ORIGINAL MESSAGE:
On August 25th we’ll be starting the slow and arduous 8 day trek up and down Mt. Kilimanjaro, our destination, the summit: 19,340 feet! And while we unfortunately won't have you with us in person, we'd love it if you joined us in spirit on our 50 mile hike by supporting this very worthwhile cause.

As we prepare and train, we can't help but realize how lucky we are, our grueling climb is nothing compared to what millions around the world struggle with daily.

Every day, millions of people walk miles on end just to get water for their families and then carry it for miles as they return home. Much of this water is contaminated, but it's the only water they have. They take the chance of contracting deadly diarrheal diseases with every sip and by the end of each day we lose 45,000 people to waterborne illnesses.

Our mission is to raise $2,000 for water. We want every step to matter. $20 will provide clean water for one person for life. $100 will provide clean water for a family. And $2,000 will provide for an entire community!
