Everyday, kids around the world go without things that we take for granted -- and we aren't talking about luxury items here. Forget worrying about the next time you get to play Mario Kart, many of the world's children are worrying about when they are going to get their next meal or have clean water to drink.

Did you know that over one billion people have to walk for hours to get water, DIRTY water? Did you know that 80% of the world's diseases are preventable if people have clean water to drink? We didn't, but now we do. And we want to do something about it. When we learned that only $20 can give someone clean, safe water for two decades, we decided to start a campaign to help.

For two weeks during our Spring Break, we are giving up some luxury items -- video games, internet, and TV -- to bring awareness to ourselves and those around us that we have SO much. We need you to help us turn this into something that takes this abundance we all have and share it with those who have so much less.

Our goal is to raise $2,500, which will pay for 1/2 of a well in a developing nation. You can help us by sponsoring a student a small amount per number of days they give up their media items. After the Media Fast is complete and the money is collected it will be sent to charity: water to help build a well for people in need. And the cool thing about charity: water is that they spend 100% of the money we raise directly on the water projects. Even better, when projects are complete, every dollar is tied to village and all the wells are posted on Google Earth.

We've never actually been dying of thirst. And if you're like us, you'd like to see a world where no one does.
