I try to stay aware of the fact that clean, drinkable water coming out of my faucet is a huge luxury.
I come home from work (in an air-conditioned office building) each day (in my reliable vehicle) and unlock my door to my safe apartment (which is also air-conditioned) where I'm greeted by my happy and healthy pup.
I put more water in Indy's bowl, open my refrigerator where the food I bought at the store (where there is a large supply) has been safely kept at a cool 40 degrees inside of my safe apartment.
After Les and I eat dinner, we relax on our couch in our cool air-conditioned apartment and watch TV before we go to sleep in our safe apartment where the roof over our head keeps any bad weather out.
All of these seemingly simple things don't seem so simple when you take the time to acknowledge them. The basic routine we go through each day is actually a luxurious lifestyle that most people in the world do not have the privilege of enjoying.
Something that we take for granted, like the ability to turn on a faucet for water to boil, is a huge part of many lives. In developing countries, people can spend as much as 40% of their time finding clean, drinkable water.
Please, take a few moments out of your day and a few dollars out of next weeks budget to contribute to this campaign. 100% of the funds go directly to and effort to bring clean water to a village in a developing country.
We are trying to raise $5,000 for this cause. This is the average cost of building a clean water well. Typically a well can supply water for about 250 people.
So please, help us out, skip that dinner out next week and make a deli sandwich instead. Bring lunch to work instead of ordering it for 5 days. Cancel your cable television for a month. There are a lot of ways we can trim back, just slightly, a privilege we enjoy and then contribute those resources to this campaign to create a giant impact on the lives of 250 people!
Keep up the good work!!
Thank You Tim and Lesley for all your work on this project.
