So you all know I like coffee... but how can you make good coffee without clean water?
I have seen someone recently who started a very interesting charity campaign for her birthday: she invited all her friends to donate her age (in dollars) to Charity: Water. It thought it's a good idea (Anna, thanks a lot).
So there you go, I turn 33 very soon. I believe that this is a nice accomplishment (I am surely bloody happy about it). My friends usually do not have to buy me a present to help me out with a thing I need desperately; I usually just receive something funny from them, something to mark the moment. So I think it's OK if I tell you my friend: don't buy me anything this year.
If you want to make me happy (or even if you don't), or if you want to mark the occasion, just donate some money to this campaign. Ideally, you could donate my age (only 20 of us can get to $666, nudge-nudge, wink-wink). But it's fine if you give less (it's fine as well to give more).
Charity: Water looks like a responsible group of people, who launch projects to establish clean water sources in third world countries. Your donation seems to be traceable, the projects seem to be sustainable, using local resources, so this seems to be something everybody can agree with.
So there you go, click on the link and give them a few dollars. Make me feel proud of my friends on my birthday.
