I open this campaign with hope. We’re inching gradually in the right direction. When I started walking for water three years ago there were 703 million people without access to clean water. Now that number has dropped to 696 million. Still a long way to go - but, that’s like the Camino.
On the French Way, one starts in the foothills of the Pyrenees in France on what feels like an impossible journey - but, millions of steps later, we’ll arrive. Eventually. One. Step. At. A. Time.
And while the plight of 696 million people without access to lifesaving clean water is still a daunting thought, the 7,000,000+ people who have been helped thus far will confirm - it’s not only possible, it's happening. And, it’s life-changing. A difference is being made. One. Person. At. A. Time.
For all the bad stuff that is going on in our world right now, there is great hope in being part of a good thing. Each $40 raised will provide clean water for life for another person. Please consider joining me in whatever contribution level fits your budget.
Each Camino I’ve walked, I’ve documented the journey on www.MoreLaterFromElsewhere.com. This year, due to time constraints, my goal is shorter than prior years on the French Way. I’ll be starting in western France in mid-May and walking two weeks - about 280 km to Burgos, Spain. Please feel free to follow along. Your encouraging comments, friendship, and general good vibes help to keep me going. 🙂
Buen Camino!

Thank you for proving clean water to our neighbors!! I appreciate your support. God bless! 😎 M
I love that you walked for Charity Water, and I love your blog. Thank you for the opportunity to give. Although our paths only crossed a couple of times, we have some of the same/similar pics: the storks, the bell tower, that friendly cat outside Atapuerca, the poppies, and more. Perhaps our paths will cross again someday.
Thank you, Karen!! I really appreciate you providing clean water for life to someone who needs it. 💕 It was so nice to get to room with you and I appreciated our chats. I wish you the most amazing finish to your walk. They say the Camino really starts once your walk has finished. 🙂 All the best & thanks again! Buen Camino!

Grand totals from SJPD to Burgos:
Days walked: 13
Floors climbed: 250 (61 of which occurred during that first brutal day’s climb)
Miles: 187.9 (Km: 302.4)
Steps: 475,271
Funds raised thus far for charity:water: $2135
Our neighbors who will get to have clean water for life: 53! 😃
That last number is, really, the most important. The people being given clean water are our neighbors (see Matt. 25 💕). And clean water helps to give them the opportunities for health and well-being that they deserve. I sincerely appreciate your help.
This campaign remains open for another 3 weeks. If there are any friends, family members, coworkers, etc. who might be interested in participating - I’d really appreciate if you could forward them the link. As you know, the funds go directly to charity:water and contributors receive a tax receipt. Win:win.
Also, if you’re interested in reading about the whole walk, daily posts can be found at www.MoreLaterFromElsewhere.com.
Thank you again! God bless. 🙂💕
