This is the fundraising campaign for Shadow Mined Recordings' project Acacia Sunrise.

When releasing this tune, it was important to us that, if we were going to release music so deeply based in the culture and sounds of indigenous people, we find a way to give back to the place and people who inspired it. We looked at several charities and out of all of them, we felt Charity: Water had the best mission because water is the foundation of life and of everything that allows people to truly thrive on their own and take ownership of their lives.

We also wanted to know the money we donate would go to help people, not fund the salaries of 501c executives. It was important to us that people who buy the track or donate be able to see the change their money makes in the lives of people who need it. So, knowing that every dime we donate will go directly towards funding the costs of water projects Charity: Water delivers to people who need them and that we would be able to actually see the project come to fruition made it a no brainer for us.

For the next six months, until October 31st of 2022, every dime in royalties received by Shadow Mined Recordings for sales, streams or any other source of royalty revenue for Acacia Sunrise will be donated directly to this campaign. But, if you have already purchased the track, and just want to donate more, feel free to do so. You can also purchase the track through Bandcamp, which will allow you to add any amount you want to the purchase price.

To keep things simple, we will donate all revenue received from the track once per month or so. We will make the final donation of whatever funds have been received on Halloween of 2022 at noon EST, the day the campaign ends. However, royalties don't always reach us in a timely fashion. We will do our best to collect and donate all the revenue that comes into various outlets before the cutoff date but, if you want to be sure your track purchase makes it into the campaign, make your purchase no later than September 30th. The campaign will be open until October 31st. You can come back here to donate as much and as often as you like.

In a global community, there is no shame in lifting from other cultures to create art or music. But, when those who have little give their voices and culture for your artistic expression, it is only right to give back. Music is life and water is life. It's a fair trade.
