Every day, 1,400 kids under the age of 5 die from water-related illnesses. Let's help change that!
Think for a moment what your life might be like without plumbing. Where is the nearest river to get water? Could you walk to it and carry enough water home for your basic needs? Would you drink it? Would you let your children drink it? Nearly 750 million people do that every day, walking many miles to haul water home - water that is dirty or contaminated, harboring deadly microrganisms.
In 2013, my Birthday Bonanza raised $980 that helped build a piped water system in the Bukoro (Chez Munyemana Jean Claude) community in central Rwanda, bringing clean water to more than 120 people. Let's do it again.
100% of the money we raise will go directly water project costs, funding long-lasting clean water solutions for people in need. When the projects are finished, charity: water will show us the exact communities we’ve helped using photos and GPS coordinates.
