My birthday is almost here and I am very thankful to have lived another happy, healthy year. Millions of children around the world don't live to see their fifth birthday because they don't have access to clean, safe drinking water.
Terrible, right? Well, we can can help change that.
On September 26th, I am turning 41.
I don't want presents or cards. I want clean water.
For the last two years, I have been raising money for charity: water on my birthday and this year I am doing it once again by asking everyone I know for my age in donations. Please give $41 or $4 for life's most basic need.
This year, charity: water is bringing clean water to 100 communities in Orissa, India. $450 provides an entire household with three taps: one in their kitchen, toilet and bathing room.
I would love to raise $900 so 2 families in Orissa, India can have clean water, just like we enjoy every day.
The best part is that 100% of the money we raise will directly fund water projects and when those projects are complete, charity: water will send us photos and GPS coordinates so we can see the impact we made.
