I have started a fundraiser called "Aloha Recycle 4 Water" in efforts to raise awareness and funds to help disadvantaged families gain access to good drinking water.

For the next three months, I will be collecting as many recyclable cans and bottles as I can in order to raise $500 to provide clean water for 5 families in need. It's a small project, but every drop of clean versus filthy water we can provide can make a difference. If you have any bottles or cans to spare for recycling, please do not throw it away, rather pass it on to me so that the funds we gather from recycling can be invested in a worthwhile cause.

Every week, millions of women and their children walk more than 14 miles just to get water for their families. Most of this water is contaminated, but it's the only water they have. They take the chance of contracting deadly diarrheal diseases with every sip. There's nothing they can do to change this.

BTW, I chose the name because, "Aloha is a way of living and treating each other with love and respect. Its deep meaning starts by teaching ourselves to love our own beings first and afterwards to spread the love to others" (To-Hawaii).

So, what can we do?

My mission is to raise $500 for water. I want every step to matter. I'm asking for pledges per foot, per mile or flat out donations to help achieve my goal.

The best part: 100% of everything we raise will go straight to building water projects in the field. Then, when the projects are complete, charity: water will show us just where they are and who they're helping (with GPS coordinates, photos and other details). We'll be able to see the communities we've impacted.
