Welcome to "Aloha Walk 4 Water."

"Aloha is a way of living and treating each other with love and respect. Its deep meaning starts by teaching ourselves to love our own beings first and afterwards to spread the love to others" (To-Hawaii).

For the next three months, I'm going to walk (or run) at least 2 miles every day in efforts to raise awareness and funds to help disadvantaged families gain access to good drinking water.

For those of you who know me personally, you know that it would take an army to get me to walk my 250-pound self more than 15 feet from a building to my car... so walking 2 miles DAILY would be a significant feat for me. That's at least 180 miles of sweating, pushing, giving everything I've got.

Sounds rough, right? Well, imagine doing all of that without clean water.

Every week, millions of women and their children walk more than 14 miles just to get water for their families. Most of this water is contaminated, but it's the only water they have. They take the chance of contracting deadly diarrheal diseases with every sip. There's nothing they can do to change this.

So, what can we do?

My mission is to raise $2,000 for water. I want every step to matter. I'm asking for pledges per foot, per mile or flat out donations to help achieve my goal.

The best part: 100% of everything we raise will go straight to building water projects in the field. Then, when the projects are complete, charity: water will show us just where they are and who they're helping (with GPS coordinates, photos and other details). We'll be able to see the communities we've impacted.
