UPDATE Fall 2013: Summer is OVER, but Audrey still wants to support this worthy cause. She and Claire really loved having a Lemonade Stand and learning about how a simple thing like clean water can change a life. They want to help even more....

Summer is almost here! For a couple of six-year-olds, summer can be a wonderful chance to make some memories, try new adventures, and spend time with friends. In Claire & Audrey's case, this is especially true. Claire & Audrey have decided to do all of these things, plus a little more. By their own initiative (with a little help from their parents and grandparents), they are going to host a fundraiser, "The Lemonade Project: by Claire & Audrey." Quite simply, it is a lemonade stand, but more importantly, it is Claire & Audrey's chance to bring some hope to other kids (to other 6-year-olds?) in another part of the world.

It was their idea, no joke, to research a charity and find one that fit their goals. Through the website for charity: water, Claire & Audrey have learned that kids their age in parts of Africa, SE Asia, and Latin America spend the bulk of their days collecting water for their family-- pathogen-filled, dirty water sometimes hours away from their homes-- rather than spending their time in school. Every day, 5000 children die from water-borne illness. The mission of charity: water is a worthy one-- one for which Audrey & Claire will spend an afternoon working to help promote with your help.

The Lemonade Project: by Claire & Audrey will have a lemonade stand on the afternoon of Saturday, June 15th in Snoqualmie, at the corner of Ridge St. & Warren Ave. Please stop by to purchase some refreshing lemonade, fresh-baked cookies, or ice-cold water. All of the proceeds from the lemonade sale will be donated to charity: water.
