Students and Staff at the Colne have worked towards achieving an ambitious £7,500 to build a water system for an entire school/village community. We have had 3 key events to raise money for a water project:

1. A Year 9/10 led fundraiser through micro businesses they created and achieved an incredible £1,300. A school record!
2. A non-uniform day for the whole school, with many students donating more than the suggested £1.
3. A teacher swim from Mersea to Brightlingsea by 3 staff and lots of support!

This was something our whole school community has supported and continues to do so. We believe everyone has a right to clean water, minimum.

Charity Water has provided the following information:

Many of us have no idea what it's like to be thirsty. We have plenty of water to drink -- even the water in our toilets is clean!

But many people around the world don’t have that luxury. Every day, about 1,400 children die from diseases caused by unsafe water and poor sanitation. But it doesn’t have to be that way. There are simple solutions like drilled wells, spring protections and BioSand filters that help provide clean water to communities around the world.

We started this fundraising campaign to help charity: water build these types of projects around the world, and I'm looking for anyone who can help me.

100% of the money will be used to build clean water projects, and when they’re complete, charity: water will send us photos and GPS coordinates so we can see the exact community we helped.
