There are too many people in the world living without access to clean water. Let's change that!
If you are reading this, you probably don't worry about clean water. However, around the world, almost 700 million men, women and children need access to safe, clean water. That's nearly 1 in 10 people worldwide! This negatively impacts their health, keeps children from attending school, and traps millions of people in a cycle of poverty. However, this all changes when solutions to access safe water are implemented.
Charity: water believes clean water changes everything. Since 2014, our group has sponsored fund-raisers for charity: water because we believe in their mission and that safe water is necessary for life (we are passionate about it!). We feel so strongly that we are donating all of the proceeds from this fundraiser and from Second Chance, our second-hand gacha emporium in Second Life, to help fund clean water projects through charity: water. WAYS YOU CAN HELP
• Educate yourself and others about the global water crisis. This costs you nothing (except your time) and contributes immensely to raising awareness of the issues.
• Donate L$ at the Second Chance Donation Fountain. Every drop counts!
• Purchase items at the Second Chance Emporium--perfect for buying inexpensive gifts for friends (and yourself). Many items are available in our expanded emporium and stock changes often.
• Donate surplus transferable items from your SL Inventory to the Second Chance Item Donation Jerry Can (just outside the main Shoppe).

• Start a clean water campaign in your own geographic area. Charity: water resources make it easy to have a real impact on this issue.
No matter what options you choose, 100% of the proceeds will go towards clean water projects around the world through charity: water, and help solve a global problem. When the projects are completed, charity: water sends us photos and GPS coordinates so we can see the community we helped. We also have information boards in-world at the Second Chance Education Center that provide updates on all of our projects and other information about the water crisis.
For every $30 (or about L$7,500) that we raise, charity: water can provide someone access to safe water for years to come. Our past SL fund-raisers have collected over L$500,000--virtual dollars making a real impact--resulting in over $2,000 in donations towards projects in Cambodia, Kenya, Ethiopia, Malawi, Uganda, Niger and Mali.
Total contributions through charity: water campaigns have funded over 24,500 projects that have impacted more than 7 million people in 24 countries.
We know there are a lot of worthy charities out there, but the water crisis is something we can change. We hope you agree and show your support by giving whatever amount you can to support our eighth water campaign. Together, we can change lives through something as basic as clean water because WATER CHANGES EVERYTHING!
