Every day, 1,400 children under the age of 5 die from water-related illnesses. Let's help change that!

It's that time of year. I am, once again, faced with the age-old tradition of celebrating the anniversary of my birth. I have a lot to be thankful for and countless reasons to feel fortunate, blessed, and grateful. Sadly, there are great numbers of people around the world who will not see another birthday, and far too often this is a result of a lack of basic needs--the same basic needs most of us take for granted.

There are about 748 MILLION people living without access to clean water! I don't know about you, but I consider water the most basic of needs. Yet, to this day diseases from unsafe water and lack of basic sanitation kill more people every year than all forms of violence, including war! This is why I have pledged my birthday to charity: water. Not only will I make a donation, but I hope you will consider doing the same. I have committed to raising $1,000 for charity: water, and need your help.

Charity: water is an incredible organization with the mission to bring clean and safe drinking water to every person in the world. Private donors cover all of their operating costs making it possible for 100% of your donations to directly fund sustainable water solutions in areas of greatest need. Even better, charity: water will show us exactly which projects we funded once they've been fully completed (which takes about 21 months). That means we'll know the locations and names of the communities we helped.
