This summer has been a life-changing and eye opening one. In early August, I had a idea to give up the costs around partying (drinks, junk food, taxi rides, etc.) to give people clean drinking water. Easily, every week I spend at least $20 on partying. $20 also gives one person clean drinking water for up to 20 years. In an effort to change my life, I decided to change others as well. Every week, when I decide not to drink, someone will get clean drinking water. The sacrifice doesn't even sound like a sacrifice when you think about the basic need for water that isn't being met for 1 billion people.
My roommate Meagan and close friend Genevieve decided to join me. We are all giving up the costs of partying and seeing how much money we can raise during fall quarter. We ask you to join us. Whether if its for a weekend, a month, or giving up Starbucks for a week... whatever your indulgence is. Make a small sacrifice to make a huge impact. We will be planning some fun events to get our friends involved, and we hope that you guys will be excited too.
