Why Michael Przytula is fundraising for clean water

On Oct 3rd 2019, myself and 4 of my (craziest?) friends will set out to ride the 600 miles from San Francisco to San Diego in just 6 days. I'm using this next cycling adventure to raise more awareness and financial support for charity: water and hopefully close out on my 2019 pledge to raise funds to change the lives of 200 people forever this year with the gift of clean water.

Every one of you reading this takes clean, (even running) water for granted, most of you have for the whole of your lives but there is still more than 663 million people who don’t have access to clean water! It’s not only the root cause of so much death and illness in those that don’t have it, it’s also an economic, education and social enabler for communities.

100% of every dollar you donate here will go directly to funding a clean water project, no operational or fund raising fees, just clean water and lives changed for ever.

Well it’s done. 620 miles from San Francisco to San Diego over 6 days.
It was another epic adventure I could not have completed without my dearest (craziest) friends and knowing that you had put your faith in me completing the journey in exchange for your support of charity: water. We saw what can only be described as some of the most amazing coastline in the world and we rode some pretty nasty streets. We had our very high highs and we had some pretty spectacular lows. We rode before the sun came up, through fog and even after the sun had set but together we made it. We had old and new friends met us along the way to ride for a while, some for a few hours, a day or even 3. From one of America’s leading ultra-distance running coaches to a humanitarian doctor who, just 4 weeks ago, was negotiating her own release from a hostage situation in a Congolese hospital. The people you meet and the bonds you make on the road are special, just as the stories you hear and the lives your support of my campaign will change forever. Thank you each once again from the bottom of my heart for your support. I can’t wait for you to see the real changes your contribution will make to the lives of others. As I wind down and reflect on the journey thoughts of the next one are already brewing in my mind. Where will it be? What could we do? I’m not sure yet, but I know it will be something epic. When I’m dreaming up these adventures I have asked myself more than once ‘is this a little too crazy?’ but I’ve been led back to a saying at charity: water when it comes to solving the water crisis: ‘The craziest thing we can do is nothing’ and I certainly don’t intend to do that and I’m hoping that whatever it is, you’ll be inspired enough to consider supporting me again.
