I was inspired to join 'Charity:Water' in the early hours of January 1st 2019. Their project details and video popped up on to my Facebook Page at a time when me and my family were (and still are) facing huge personal challenges in our lives. I was feeling very low, alone, couldn't sleep and had reached for my phone. Suddenly there was this 'light', something to focus on, something positive, something that could make a difference to so many people, and that I could contribute to.

I was so inspired that I got out of bed, went on to the website and joined 'The Spring' Charity:Water's monthly fundraising campaign there and then (yes at 1am in the morning!) and purchased Scott Harrison's book' Thirst' (an amazing read!) but soon realised that I wanted to make a bigger, more significant difference, by setting a personal goal to raise enough money for a complete 'Well Project'. So here is my page, the first steps to make that goal a reality.

Many of us have no idea what it's like to be thirsty. We have plenty of water to drink -- let's face it- even the water in our toilets is clean!

But many people around the world don’t have that luxury. Every day, about 1,400 children die from diseases caused by unsafe water and poor sanitation. But it doesn’t have to be that way. There are simple solutions like drilled wells, spring protections and BioSand filters that help provide clean water to communities around the world.

I started this fundraising campaign to help charity: water build these types of projects around the world, and I'm determined to raise enough money to fund that entire Well Project that I dream of- one that I can follow through its development, get updates on its progress until its fruition. I'm looking for anyone who can join me in that mission. Every little helps to get to that total. The sooner it is reached the quicker a well can be built, and the sooner more people can have access to clean water - surely a basic right for all of us!

Please donate to my campaign -- anything you can give is a huge help. My goal is to raise £7500 by the end of this year so that 2020 can get the well in its development. I've shifted my monthly contributions to this campaign and will arranging various other fundraising events during the year.

100% of the money will be used to build clean water projects, and we will get news of how things are going and when they’re complete, charity: water will send us photos and GPS coordinates so we can see the exact community we helped.
