1,400 kids die from water-related illnesses daily. Help make my 21st a meaningful one as we change that together!

My birthday is almost here. I don't intend to throw a party for my 21st like most people usually do, so to make things a little special this year I decided to run this campaign. I learned that millions of kids around the world don't live to see their fifth birthday because they don't have access to clean, safe drinking water. We can help change that! So, inspired by a friend (who's currently doing his own campaign), I decided to embark on a #21DayWaterChallenge - and I hope you can join me.

I'm asking for my age in dollars from everyone I know (or even for your age in dollars!). Every cent raised will directly fund clean water projects in developing countries. Even better, charity: water will show us exactly which projects we funded once they've been fully completed (which takes about 21 months). That means we'll know the locations and names of the communities we helped.

#21DayWaterChallenge - I'm going to, for 21 days leading up to my birthday, go without any other fluids except clean, plain water. With so many different choices of drinks (some of my favourite being coffee, soybean milk, isotonic drinks) I have taken for granted the value of plain water, which so many people don't have access to.
