My birthday is almost here! Four years ago, when I turned 21, I ran a campaign (21 Day Water Challenge - https://my.charitywater.org/samantha-low/21daywaterchallenge) because I was inspired by a friend. Now that I'm a quarter of a century old, I thought I should run a campaign again.

I can't run 25km, nor do anything fancy. I'm going to, for 25 days leading up to my birthday, go without any other fluids except clean, plain water. With so many different choices of drinks (some of my favourite being coffee, tea, smoothies) I have taken for granted the value of plain water, which so many people don't have access to.

I'm asking for my age in dollars from everyone I know (or even for your age in dollars!). If you were intending to get me a gift, consider donating to my campaign instead! Whatever amount you donate, I will thank you profusely. If you donate $25 and up, I will thank you profusely AND you can ask me to attempt to write a haiku for you if you so desire. But I can't promise it'll be good (haha).

Every day, about 1,400 children die from diseases caused by unsafe water and poor sanitation. But it doesn’t have to be that way. There are simple solutions like drilled wells, spring protections and BioSand filters that help provide clean water to communities around the world. 100% of the money will be used to build clean water projects, and when they’re complete, charity: water will send us photos and GPS coordinates so we can see the exact community we helped.
