Viele von uns haben keine Ahnung, wie es ist, durstig zu sein. Wir haben viel Wasser zum Trinken - auch das Wasser in unserer Toilette ist sauber!
Aber viele Menschen auf der ganzen Welt haben nicht diesen Luxus. Jeden Tag sterben rund 1.400 Kinder an Krankheiten, die durch unsauberes Wasser und schlechte sanitäre Bedingungen verursacht werden. Aber es muss nicht so sein. Es gibt einfache Lösungen wie Bohrbrunnen, Wasserquellen-Schutz und BioSand Filter, die für sauberes Wasser in Gemeinden auf der ganzen Welt bringen können.
Wir starteten diese Spendenaktion für 2016, um zu helfen. charity: water baut diese Art von Projekten auf der ganzen Welt, und wir sind auf der Suche nach jemanden, der uns helfen kann. Insgesamt werden wir 4 Kampagnen starten in 2016, die jeweils ein Quartal gehen.
Bitte spendet, um unsere Kampagne zu unterstützen, statt uns etwas zu z.B. Geburtstagen oder Weihnachten zu schenken.
100% des Geldes wird verwendet werden, um sauberes Wasser-Projekte zu bauen, und wenn sie abgeschlossen sind, wird charity: water uns Fotos und GPS-Koordinaten zusenden, so dass wir sehen können, wie und wo unsere Hilfe ankommt.
Wenn ihr die Kampagne noch weiter unterstützen wollt, könnt ihr auch eure eigenen Kampagnen daran anknüpfen. Wir sammeln dann alle zusammen in 2016 für sauberes Wasser! Unser Ziel ist es für ca. 30 Menschen auf der Welt sauberes Wasser zu bieten. Zusammen können wir vielleicht noch viel mehr Menschen helfen!

What's happening now?
The projects you are are helping fund in Tigray, the northernmost region of Ethiopia, are underway. Currently, more than 5 million people live there and less than half of them have access to clean and safe drinking water. But thanks to your help, we’re working to change that!Our partner, the Relief Society of Tigray (REST), has already constructed 223 new projects through the grant you helped fund. Now they are hard at work forming local Water Committees and training them on water point maintenance, financial management, and fee collection to ensure sustainability and accountability at each of these projects.
Additionally, schools are forming health clubs to help promote hand washing and safe water practices using educational games and role-playing activities. We truly believe that sanitation and hygiene interventions are an essential component of our work in these communities and it is amazing to see the progress that is being made.
Over the next few months, REST will continue to work with local communities to complete an additional 133 water points thanks to generosity just like yours and we can't wait to see the incredible impact these projects will have on the people of Tigray.
