We got engaged; we started planning a wedding; prepared to walk down that aisle. It seemed like an impossible task and a huge life step.
Then we learned the facts:
Millions of people walk miles every day just to get water to drink. The children skip primary school to lug 40-pound Jerry Cans on their backs. Family members try to nurse their brothers and sisters back to health after a waterborne illness has infected them.
Our wedding mission? In addition to pledging our love to one another, we want to show love to our brothers and sisters around the world. We want to build a clean water well through our charity: water campaign and make a lasting impact in the lives of 25 people. We're raising $500 to do so, and every cent you give will go directly towards our wedding well.
Instead of dishes, furniture and tablecloths, we're asking our wedding guests to consider giving people in developing nations years of water as an alternative to the traditional wedding gift.
We're blessed to have such great friends and family. We cant wait to spend our lives together. We'd like to celebrate the future by funding a well and helping a community get life's most precious need.
