Why Team Walk4Water is fundraising for clean water

The world is a mess.

People are sick. Starving. Poor. Every day I see it on TV. There are so many people who need help. There are so many causes and so much to do.

I've had it pretty good in life. I felt God calling me to do something, so I picked one cause I think everyone can agree on. I'm working to give people something they absolutely cannot do without -- the most basic of health needs.

“Then the King will say to those on his right, ‘Come, you who are blessed by my Father, inherit the Kingdom prepared for you from the creation of the world. For I was hungry, and you fed me. I was thirsty, and you gave me a drink. I was a stranger, and you invited me into your home. I was naked, and you gave me clothing. I was sick, and you cared for me. I was in prison, and you visited me.'" Matthew 25:34-36

I want to give drink to the thirsty. I don't have a lot of money now, but I'm collecting discarded pop cans and bottles and cashing them in for 5 cents each. With the help of my coworkers, I believe those little contributions can make a big difference.

More than a billion people don't have access to safe drinking water. I don't mean that their pipes don't work; I mean that they have to walk hours each day to collect dirty water from stagnant ponds and muddy rivers. And the crazy thing is that for so many of them, clean water runs in aquifers under their homes and villages. But they don't have the drilling equipment or the money to reach it.

Just $5,000 can build a clean water project to serve a community of 250 people. My goal is to raise $5000 towards a project in the next three months.

There's a lot of need in the world. I'm starting here. Please join me.
