This year's September Campaign is about a community of people doing crazy things to raise money for clean water.
I'm going to make a fool of myself in public to raise money because that seems a lot less crazy than the fact that 663 million people on this planet don't have clean water.
We can fly airplanes, order food from our phones and travel to the moon, but 1 out of 11 of us is still drinking disease-filled muddy water every day?! That is crazy.
If you've been to New York City, you're familiar with the "ittttt's showtime!" crews. They're the kids on the subway that show up with boomboxes, dance all over the poles and then pass a hat around to collect money for the show.
For every $500 I raise, I'm going to do that.
It's that simple. Every time my campaign reaches a $500 increment, I'll go "bust it down" and "break it old school" (or whatever the kids say) on the subway and share the guaranteed-to-be-humiliating video on my Twitter page.
As an added bonus, if you give $500, you can choose my song and outfit (although... let's keep it legal).
Yeah?! Did I mention that 100% of the money you give funds clean water projects or that every $30 brings clean water to one person?!
