sip water from tap because it's clean. People around the world can't do the same. Let's fix that.

Water is life. So is love. So are family and friends. I've travelled around the world to find all of these things, and more often than not, the one that is always scare is water. Every time I land back in the US, I'm reminded that my greatest privilege is not the education, or the safety, or the well of opportunities, but the ability to sheepishly wake up, sleepwalk to my sink and drink water straight from the tap. And not get a tapeworm.

So for my 22nd birthday, I'd like to celebrate my life by celebrating the lives of all those around the world through the gift of water. The average campaign raises $770, but I'd like to take advantage of my Facebook friends - all 2936 of them (even the robots and narks) - and raise $2936, $1 per FB friend. By raising that much money, we can help upwards to 150 people get access to clean water. 100% of the proceeds will go to developing a water filtration solution suited to the given source, terrain and population.

Those who know me and my politics know I'm not a huge fan of aid - but when it comes to water and the lack of human and structural investment in creating clean water sources around the world, I can no longer wait idly for governments to create the necessary infrastructure that will allow for life to grow and develop.

So let's play our part, however tiny, to help our friends around the world feel a lil better, because we all know that the right amount of (clean) water can fix half of our problems.
