goal
No one should have to live without clean water. GCSU is going to change that!
What is Village50: Village50 is a grassroots effort to bring clean and safe drinking water to the 1 in 8 people in the world that currently do not have access to it, through an incredible organization out of NYC named charity: water. Women and children all over the world walk miles everyday collecting dirty water, dirty water that will make them sick and possibly even kill them. But this is their only choice. Village50's goal is to change people's lives through access to clean water!
On October 26th, 50 people from GCSU will gather by the river. From there they will walk as a collective Village 2 miles carrying empty water containers. After 2 miles everyone in our village will fill up their water containers with 1-5 gallons out of the river and carry that water another 2 miles. We are doing this to simulate what women and children do everyday, while also raising money so they will never have to do it again!
How many gallons will YOU carry?
To sign up:
1. Click attending on this event.
2. Email: AVFORAV@gmail.com with your name, Instagram username, cell number, how many gallons you will be carrying and your t-shirt size.
3. Pledge that you will personally raise $100 from friends and family, perhaps even make a donation yourself. If everyone that participates in Village50 raises at least $100 we will be able to provide clean water to an ENTIRE VILLAGE!!
If you have any questions, comments, or want to know how you can help us promote this water walk please reach out to Laura Daley or email AVFORAV@gmail.com
Thanks and we cannot wait to change the world with you!!
100% of everything we raise will directly fund water projects. And when those projects are finished, charity: water will send us proof in pictures and GPS coordinates, so we can see the actual people and communities we impacted.
