I have never had to worry about where my next sip of water was going to come from, until now. While I did not earn it, or deserve it, I was born in America. A place where the clean water abundantly flows . I didn't deserve to be born here, I just was.
Unfortunately the same cannot be said for 663 million people in the world right now that do not have access to clean water. They didn't deserve to be born where they were born, they just were.
So what if, through no fault of my own I was born in a place where clean water wasn't abundantly flowing? That is exactly the situation I find myself in thanks to this campaign, the "What If Experience". From Jan 1st - March 22nd (World Water Day), I will walk to get my water. The water that I walk to get will be the only water I am able to use for cooking, drinking, cleaning dishes, and bathing. Just like my neighbors who don't have immediate access to clean water, if I run out of water I will have to walk a mile to collect it, then carry the full 5-gallon jerry a mile back home.
I honestly don't know what to expect, I don't know how it's going to feel, and I certainly don't know how this is going to go. One thing is for certain, with your efforts and mine, through this campaign we will be able to radically change peoples lives through access to clean water. Thank you for considering donating to my campaign, it truly means the world to me.
In closing it's pivotal to mention that 100% of the money will be used to build clean water projects, and when they’re complete, charity: water will send us photos and GPS coordinates so we can see the exact community we helped.
For Sarah Lyles and Friend, David Huey, Ryan Hersh, Jana Coleman, Brittney Reeves, Scott Reeves walking their own "What If Experience"! Great work guys, you all did it!! Because you walked, someone will never have to walk again!
