Mission Statement

On June 12th 2011, I'm turning 9. I found out that millions of people don't live to see their 5th birthday. And why? Because they didn't have access to clean, safe water so I'm celebrating my birthday like never before. I'm asking from everyone I know to donate to my campaign instead of gifts for my birthday. Every penny of the money raised will go directly to fund freshwater projects in developing nations. Even better, every dollar is "proved" when the projects are complete, and photos and GPS coordinates are posted using Google Earth. My goal is to raise $300 by my birthday, June 12, 2011. Please consider helping me.

Thank you so much!!!

I am in awe of the overwhelming love to take my daughters dream and make it a reality. In the face of unexplainable pain you have provided undeniable hope. Thank you for your generosity!
I know Rachel is smiling!

Have been following this since July. It's been kind of a "we-are-the-world" past few months. Here's hoping Rachel knows about all this. Her family is in my thoughts.

Like so many of you, I have visited this page every day since I first heard about Rachel. We cannot let her story fade. We must carry it as a shining example for future generations - as a beacon of light. It saddens me that I cannot donate much to her cause at this point in time. But thankfully, though this campaign ends today, tomorrow brings new opportunities to give. Our most important task is to keep Rachel's story burning bright. What little I can do, I have done: launch a movement of generosity inspired by and dedicated to Rachel called 9th Birthday. I want everyone here to be the first to experience it (and hopefully join the movement). You can see it at www.9thBirthday.org. TO SAMANTHA: Everything you see there is yours. 9th Birthday belongs to you. Please know that we will never forget Rachel or her dream of clean water for all.

Con mucho dolor sé que Rachel murió y ahora está descansando (Juan 11:11-14), pero tengo la certeza que bajo el Reino de Dios (Lucas 23:43) habrá resurrección de muertos (Rev. 21:11-13). Entonces le pido a mi Dios Jehová, me permita ver con vida y sonriendo a la preciosa niña: Rachel Beckwith en el Paraíso prometido. luis.balladares@gmail.com With great pain I know that Rachel is resting (John 11:11-14), but I have the assurance that under the Kingdom of God (Luke 23:43) will be no resurrection of the dead (Rev. 21:11-13). Then I ask my Lord God Jehova, let me see her alive and smiling at the lovely girl: Rachel Beckwith promised Paradise.

I too have made several donations and assume that this site has been for individual wells; incredible that a wonderful little 9-year-old girl could set in motion a movement ultimately to bring water to 63,500! However this site has of late partly competed with the September campaign site for a new drilling rig (two if they reach goal), so now they would prefer us to donate toward that, using the site above indicated above as Amy Young just below called to our attn. By the way, I don't know her, but kudos to Amy Young who has made a zillion donations here and been one of our very best cheerleaders. Or--we might give to the site of someone else who has not been able to collect much, a little encouragement to them. So don't y'all go away!

The comments of real, honest, caring people on Rachel's Charity Water website have recharged my faith in the goodness of people. The heartfelt comments have been wonderful to read, and it is amazing what one young lady has done to move so many people to realize that it is good to give, and good to have goals that are bigger than ourselves. Blessings to Rachel's family. Blessings to Rachel - a very powerful soul.

I don't know when it was posted, but I just noticed Rachel's new campaign noted above under her original message. Thank you for continuing her dream and allowing all of us to be a part of it! The goal on the new page is $5,000. I think "we" can do that! God bless!

May God bless you and your family, Rachel. And may He bless all of those in need of water.

Diseases from unsafe water and lack of basic sanitation kill more people every year than all forms of violence, including war. Your donation will help change that.
