Why Cardboard Shell is fundraising for clean water

Normally, I would have spent the last 3 months eating loads of hotdogs each week, while raising money for Charity:Water. But 2020 is not normal.

Up until mid June, we weren't even sure if the Nathan's Famous Hot Dog Eating Contest was going to happen. I found out June 16, booked travel June 19, and cancelled travel June 24th -- 10 days before the 4th of July -- when Governor Cuomo issued an order requiring AZ to quarantine for 14 days upon arrival to NY.

But as with everything else in the dumpster fire that is 2020, you take it in stride and try to find the positives. The women's contest got full coverage on ESPN this year, world records were demolished, and for an hour, the Nathan's contest brought the world a little normalcy.

So in honor of the day's events, and in an effort to help charity water (since I don't know when I'll train next for a contest), let's raise money and have a recap chat about the contest. Join me on Youtube (https://www.youtube.com/cardboardshelleats) at 1pm AZ time (that's 4pm NY time), and chew the fat with me while I casually try to eat 30+ hot dogs during the stream.

I'll donate $5 per hot dog I'm able to eat today. .. maybe more, because man, I'm out of practice....
