Why Cardboard Shell is fundraising for clean water

5,000 kids die daily from lack of clean water. We can change that.

I don't know about you, but I use a LOT of water every day. I turn take glorious hot showers and chug ice-cold water straight from the pitcher (shh, don't tell my roommate!). I also have this compulsion to flush the toilet every time I use it AND THEN wash my hands.

Admittedly, sometimes water grosses me out. Like when I have to chug a gallon in a minute to stretch out my stomach before a competition. When I'm trying to do that, water actually nauseates me and I have to fight to keep it down. But honestly, that nausea is nothing...

Because every day, thousands of people all over the world succumb to water-related illnesses. A lot of them lose that fight - 5,000 kids under the age of five die every day.

BUT THERE'S GOOD NEWS! It doesn’t have to be that way. There are simple solutions like drilled wells, spring protections and BioSand filters that help provide clean water to communities around the world.

But, for that to happen, we have to step up and help. I started this fundraising campaign to help charity: water build these types of projects around the world, and I'm looking for anyone who can help me.

As always, I'm tying this fundraising goal to a competitive eating goal. This year, I hope to eat 33 hot dogs at Coney Island, and raise enough money to help 33 people get clean water for life.

I'll be making practice videos throughout the campaign to thank the people who have donated and keep you updated on my progress.

Remember, every dollar helps! I hope you'll join me in this effort!

**P.S. 100% of the money will be used to build clean water projects, and when they’re complete, charity: water will send us photos and GPS coordinates so we can see the exact community we helped.
